It is not shearing-it is a manmade fabric: 100% polyester. That said , the "sherpa" is the reverse side of the faux suede and the same fabric is used for the whole jacket. The sherpa is on the entire inside of the coat-but it is not a separate lining. Hope this helps. It's a nice jacket. Celeste
