The Internet is a great place to shop. But too often people get stuck with a cheap knockoff when they cannot tell the difference based on advertised bags that are “too good to be true”. poshmopolitan_ You are 100% right. There must be some method that authentic bags can be identified by the brand. A lot of these knock offs are sourced by DHgate and other MFRs based in CN. Replicas of Shoes and apparel brands like Nike and Zara can similarly be found on Aliexpress. The replicas come with phony certificates of authenticity, buyer beware. I’m surprised that there has been little media coverage of this growing issue especially considering POSH is a publicly traded company.

flip241 Hello, hope all is well. Hoping you can help me out as you are a posh ambassador and you have a lot of experience. I just sold my first luxury item. Im worried about scammers as i have been a victim of it myself. Have you ever had any issues? Are we, the seller, protected in receiving funds and/or getting our actual item back if things go wrong? collectorslane @flip241 Hi there! Congrats!!🎉 how exciting for you! And yes there is an element of fear when its your first sale of high end item. Here are a few thoughts: Insure your item as an add on to priority mail for the value of bag. Posh insures up to $500. Thats only for the trip to Newark Posh headquarters. They will handle the rest and pack in their own box then send out with the certificate.

collectorslane @flip241 If you are concerned about buyer scams perhaps their closet tells the story but many buyers do not sell and close their closet after making the purchase (that once scared me) but often times they only opened to make the purchase. I have contacted Posh support on the same ?? You ask. They say that they have orders in place to protect you from being scammed (fake bag returned and authentic kept) after they authenticate and send bag out.

collectorslane Scamming buyer has not happened to me yet (3 years time) but there are many scammers out there. More so I think sellers scam and don’t send the real product. That has happened twice to me and Yes, PM refunded my $$. The $$ is being held so if there is an issue hopefully they will handle. Dont stress! I know its difficult. Remember Posh packs it so no need to pretty up with tissue etc as they use their own Posh materials!

I didnt want to ship the LV bag without some sense of security before doing so. So i found you. Lol Again, thank you so much. ❤️
