Donald Brooks VIbrant Plaid Dress

Vintage 1970s Donald Brooks dress with halter neckline & open back. Vibrant yellow, gold, black, red, orange, purple, green plaid. Rear zip & hook closure with two 21" front slits & side pockets, Label says size 8 but dress appears to run small. Measures 58" long, 35" bust, 26.5" waist & approx. 43" hips. Overall excellent condition. A few very minor camouflaged imperfections are noted in photos #13, #14 & #15. Donald Brooks was a noted fashion designer who designed over 3500 costumes for film & stage starting in the 1960s. He created & worked under his own label, Donald Brooks Boutique, from 1965-1973. His designs were sold at the finest high end stores in New York City. He later taught at the Parsons School of Design & continued his theatrical design. He is widely regarded as one of America's greatest fashion designers. This is a rare item & a special listing.
