sarahvrusso What is the point of this? What does it do that rope doesn't? Is it only for fishing boats.. why?

bswens1 @sarahvrusso keep the boat from rubbing on the dock. Bumpers are fat and take up lots more space in your boat, where these will fit about anywhere. I don’t have them but that’s what I assume the purpose is.

sarahvrusso @bswens1 yes I get that but... what's to stop the boat from shifting back or forward and these being on an angle which would seem like it would make your boat hit the dock anyway. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just genuinely curious because if they do somehow stay straight like that I might be interested in purchasing some.

malvarez527 @sarahvrusso I’m assuming that’s what the rods job is .. preventing it from banging into the dock .. so imagine having an arm there that’s just holding it ?
