š this was my engagement ring. After having my kids my skin became very sensitive to most soaps and channel set rings tend to get soap underneath so I couldn't wear my rings for 4 years. I finally had my center stone reset into a pave setting that I could wear and am selling this one.

š purchased from Frost Jewelers in Pittsburgh, PA in 2007. Stamped with 18k on the inside. Paid 2k for setting (not including solitaire diamond that we got it with).

š this will be very carefully photographed, videotaped and documented to ensure a smooth transaction for both of us. I will purchase extra insurance to cover the full value of the ring. It also qualifies for posh concierge service so it will be sent to posh and they will authenticate it.

Hello, could you please tell me the TCW for the channel set princess cut diamonds on top of the setting & their color & clarity ratings as well as the same info for the pave diamonds on the sides of the bands? Do you perhaps still have the paperwork/certification from the original purchase? Also, it appears the ring is about a size 5, correct? Do you know if this type setting can be sized up several sizes? (I have large knuckles!) Thanks very much for your time! Kellie

One additional question please- what size diamond (carat weight & surface measurement in mm), did you have in this setting? (I have a princess cut I would have mounted in It too & I want to check the size). Thanks much! Kellie

@yogamomkel hi! So glad you sent a second message I totally missed the first! My stone is .8 carat. I think they can put various size stones it in but Iād check with a jeweler to be sure š when I get home I will measure it in mm and look for the paperwork. We moved so things are in a bit of disarray. Iāll post a reply soon!
Nov 05Reply

ourhometoyours
@yogamomkel also it is about a size 5, I would check with the jeweler about how much it might be able to be sized up Iām honestly not sure.
Nov 05Reply

yogamomkel
Thanks so much for your reply! My stone is ~0.75 cts so hopefully it would fit but yes, I will consult a jeweler about that & the resizing, too. I appreciate you checking on paperwork, etc & if you know the TCW on the channel set & pave diamonds & clarity/color info, that would also be helpful. Many thanks for your time! Kellie

@yogamomkel good morning! My diamond itās top surface is 5x5 mm. When the jeweler reset it he said it was ādeep.ā

@yogamomkel Iām still looking for the full appraisal. So far I only have a scanned copy of the original receipt which is not very descriptive. It just says ādiamonds of fine color and clarityā which honestly doesnāt mean much. I have it insured so I may call our insurance company to see if they have a copy of the full appraisal. Posh concierge will verify that they are diamonds and 18k gold but I donāt think they measure out āthe cāsā Iāll update you this afternoon!

@ourhometoyours Thank you for this info & for checking with your insurer. While you check, I will check w/my jeweler re: sizing & whether my diamond could fit the mounting. Perhaps your jeweler could estimate the TCW of the princess & pave diamonds? If you could maybe measure the full size in mm of one set of the princess diamonds on the band, that would help me to get an idea re: The look of these beside my princess solitaire . Sorry for all the questions!

@ourhometoyours Itās difficult to get an idea from photos of how a ring looks in person so I appreciate your assistance. Thanks, Kellie

@yogamomkel sounds good! I actually donāt have a jeweler here but can look for a reputable one, I had my ring done before I left North Carolina. We moved to Rhode Island in September. I will take some extra pics with a ruler and next to common objects to get a better idea of the size. Iāll also post specific measurements on the channel set diamonds. Iāll make an additional listing and mark it as not for sale. Iāll tag you in it when Iām done!

@yogamomkel Iāve posted the new pics and tagged you in the listing! Please donāt hesitate to ask for more pics, measurements, descriptions etc! Itās a special ring and I want whoever has it to love it! ā¤ļø

@ourhometoyours Thank you for the helpful info & all the photos! They are really helpful in getting an idea of how the ring would look with my diamond. Mine is almost the same size as yours. I had a church commitment today & couldnāt make it to our jeweler before they closed but I hope to get by there tomorrow to ask about sizing and if the setting should work for my diamond without major rework. Thanks much for all your help! It looks like a lovely ring.

ourhometoyours
@yogamomkel still no luck on the paperwork. USAA only keeps the amount itās worth on file not the whole appraisal. š

yogamomkel
Hello again! Thanks, i actually just left a second jeweler seeking info on mounting my diamond in your ring. I think your ring is lovely! I have learned that my stone is radiant cut rather than princess..... i knew it was one of the 2 but after 28+ years of marriage I couldnāt remember which! šBecause of this, both jewelers said i would have to purchase a new head for the mounting which with having to upsize it 3+ sizes, they estimated up to $500-600 for all the work. š

Iām not sure i want to invest that much more $?
I am going to be traveling over the next several days & plan to hopefully seek an assessment from one more jeweler i know in
Nov 08Reply

yogamomkel
my hometown that i know is excellent. Iām hoping he may have a different answer! I will be back in
touch after i have that info. It may be next week due to some family medical issues but i will definitely let you know something.
Nov 08Reply

yogamomkel
Some of the challenge is that both jewelers really insisted that they would need to see the mounting to ensure they could do the
work. (??š¤). Obviously, we canāt very well do that since we live far apart!
Nov 08Reply

yogamomkel
So I am just not sure yet about risking whether they could make it work but hopefully Iāll get a better response from the next jeweler! Thanks much for all the info & pics! You are so helpful! It is such a pretty ring. Kellie

@ourhometoyours oops! Forgot to tag you above!
Nov 08Reply

ourhometoyours
@yogamomkel I totally understand! Thatās a lot to invest. Definitely check prices on what a new one would cost to compare. You might be getting close to retail after the additional investment š hope everything goes ok with your family have a safe trip!!

Do you know the carat weight?
Nov 15Reply

ourhometoyours
@sadonnakay hi there! Iām sorry I donāt have the appraisal, only the receipt. We just moved to RI in a military move and our files were kind of a mess. I have electronic copy of the receipt. The princess cut stones are approx each 2x2 mm. Thereās another listing with additional pics in my closet. I will tag you in it. It has some pics thatāll help get an idea of size. Iāll measure the prongs when I get home. I would definitely check with a jeweler before buying to make sure itāll work š
