This piece was created and worn by a Tribal elder from the Montana Crow tribe. Circa 1930s - 1940s. Made of two sterling silver forks, with a steel face plate. It features two heart-shaped untreated turquoise stones, believed to have come from the Bertis Blue mine in Colorado. Three more turquoise stones adorn the sacred "Four Directions" design, with a large chunk of coral beside the center heart turquoise. Pawned in the early 1970s, I came to be the temporary caretaker of this stunning and historical piece. Now, must sell.
I had a jeweler add a safety clasp and sterling chain.
3 1/2 inches from top to bottom.
6 inch circumference with 1 3/4 inch gap.

@wrforrest this is a hard one to part with, but I don't wear it and I don't have children to pass it down to. It's history is fascinating. It was made by a Native elder as his personal piece, but he ended up having to pawn it in Montana in the early 1970's. I bought it from an elderly couple who traveled the country looking for valuable Native American art and jewelry. They had a specialty shop in Los Angeles where I'm from.

What a piece! Love this :)

@winnie42 it's got quite a history, as well. It's very old, made by a Tribal elder who wore it himself, and only parted with it as he had fallen on hard times. I purchased it from a collector in the 1970's with the intention of returning it to the man, however I was never able to locate him and finally had to relinquish my dream of reuniting it with its creator. It has tremendous energy when you hold or wear it.

@jerichosoul I bet he hated to part with it as well as yourself. It is so unique and such a stunning piece. If I had the extra funds, I'd snatch it up in a heart beat :)

@winnie42 I believe it must have been a difficult choice, yes. I had so hoped that I would've been able to bring it home to him...

@jerichosoul I bet you did! Earlier, I was thinking how awesome that would of been if you would of found him. But hey, you never know someone in his family may happen to be on here and notice the piece. Eitherway, I have a feeling it will go to someone it is meant to be with. :)
