(6) Sterling silver and enamel demitasse spoons by David Andersen
This fabulous cased set of six silver gilt demitasse coffee spoons was made in Oslo by the highly regarded David Andersen of Norway, who founded the business in 1882. Each cast silver gilt spoon with intricate scrolling cloisonne tendrils against a tuquoise blue enamel background, and white 'jewelled' enamel borders.
The work is reminiscent of Russian cloisonné enamel silver of the period and the Norwegian version takes inspiration from a Viking style called ''Dragestil''.
