Dated 1984 Angela Cummings Studios Sterling Silver Floral Clip Earrings

Dating precisely to 1984, may I offer this pair of Sterling Silver (hallmarked as pictured) clip earrings (conversion to pierced would be an easy fix for any jeweler) in a very stylized floral design (orchids?). Designed by Angela Cummings Studios the fronts measure 1-1/8" high x 1" approx. Combined weight of the pair is 13.4 grams. The clip mechanisms work as they should holding nicely to the ear. Smooth polished fronts with an almost "brushed" appearance to the metal on the reverse. Condition is very fine with no problems I can spot. ANGELA CUMMINGS was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt, Austria. Her education began with the Art Academy at Perugia, Italy as well as the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. Her designs came to the attention of Donald Claflin of Tiffany & Co and in 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co becoming the artistic director of her own line in 1975. Although she continued to work for Tiffany, in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at chosen boutiques including Bergdorf Goodman, in New York City. Other department store boutiques followed including Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Retiring in 2003, Cummings closed her business as well as the boutiques and moved to Utah with her family.
