DRAMATIC 1930s' BLACK STRAW HAT - UPTURNED BRIM + CREAM GROSGRAIN BOW

This hat is stunning. It consists of a round crown that comes to a slight peak at the center, and it has an asymmetrical brim turned up at the front, tapering down towards the back. there is s black grosgrain band around the crown and under the brim at the front. There is a black grosgrain bow at the back. At one side, there is a creme colored grosgrain bow that holds a fold in the brim. there is an elastic band attached to keep the hat in place. Just beautiful! Women’s 1930s hats were small and simple in decoration, yet their shaping was a work of art. Folded, molded, and angled felt made hats look like something out of a Picasso painting. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
