These were sold to me as new. I bought shoes in bulk from a department store. They've never been worn at my house. Check the top of the right shoe (the shoe on the left, in the picture). What looks like dark areas is actually where the metallic finish has a shiny, mirror-like finish. The insoles may show signs where a price sticker had been removed. This style is a few years old. Back before Pliner quality dropped way off by now having their brand made in China. This pair was made in Spain.
