DIVINE 1930's FELT/CRIN TILT WIDE BRIM HAT + SEE-THROUGH BRIM + FABRIC FLOWERS

This is an amazingly beautiful hat from the fashionable 1930s'! The conical crown is made of black felt, and is surrounded by a wide brim made of strips of woven crin, which makes it see-through. There are some black taffeta bows at the center on top of the brim, plus beautiful white fabric flowers and green leaves/stems. There is an elastic band attached to the inside to keep the hat in a tilted position. There is a label size 22, but tilt hats sit on top of the head, so it will fit most head sizes. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills.
