This is a framed pair of 1897 prints by M. B. Parkinson titled "Cupid Asleep" and "Cupid Awake". The little girl shown in the prints is Josephine Anderson. The photographer, M.B. Parkinson, worked in the New York City area during the latter part of the 1800s and early 1900s. His young model was the daughter of a friend, a single mother who worked and sometimes left her child in Parkinson’s care.
Framed images measure approx. 3-1/4" (wide) x 4-1/2" (tall). The metal frames may have been the original frames.
These prints were from my grandfather’s home in North Dakota. He was born in 1895.
