I’m only selling because my bowl broke and the set is no longer available. This is a very rare platter. I have looked for the bowl for awhile before decided to sale it. DISCONTINUED - Very Rare The simple, oval shape of our Caspian serving platter puts the focus on its beautiful blue reactive glaze. Undergoing chemical changes during firing, the glaze produces one-of-a-kind patterns and luminous, variable blue tones. As it cascades down the surface, the glaze transitions from aqua to cobalt, peppered throughout with unique markings and crackles. This intentional and desirable crazing occurs during firing, and the craquelure can develop more complexity over the years whenever the raw natural materials expand and contract. The glaze and its effects are food-safe but may temporarily discolor with certain foods.
