polameva @isa_wine_lover the last one I read of his was "Memories of My Melancholy Whores". Wow! Like very few of other writers (i.e. Toni Morrison) he touched, brings to surface, hidden aspects/feeling in all of us. Amazing and magical stuff!

isa_wine_lover @polameva I read that one a while back. It can be a little heavy for some (a friend of mine hated it), but like you said, it brings deep things to the surface, facts and events nobody wants to talk about. Have you read “No one Writes to the Colonel”? Amazing, too!

polameva @isa_wine_lover "Beloved" is my favorite, followed closely by " A Mercy". All of her books are beautiful. Don't give up when you start reading and don't understand a darn thing. It will all fall beautifuly into place as you keep going.
