Collectible Mid 20th Century Japanese Gold Imari Hand Painted Dish/Bowl

Vintage Japanese Gold Imari Hand Painted Glazed - Trinket Dish/Bowl - Great Condition Produced in "Arita" Japan this bowl is beautifully hand-painted with a repeated pattern around the bowl. The "dollops" of paint are visible. There are segments that feature the authentic, vibrant colors of cobalt blue, gold, green & iron red which are known of Gold Imari pieces. Also painted on appears to be a "Phoenix" in flight therefore this pattern could be called "Old Phoenix". On the underneath of the bowl are even more decorations in the blue color. There are holes for attaching a wire for hanging from a wall if desired or the bowl could be displayed on a stand. According to research, the gold pottery stamp on the bottom of the item is from production dates of 1959-1984. This item pairs with Persian rugs, Turkish and Moroccan mosaics, prints etc. Imari is a style of porcelain named after the Japanese port that the porcelain was shipped from. It began in the late 17th century. The Imari palette involved around three main colors--the blue underglaze, a rusty, reddish-orange and a brilliant gold. Just think how much time and effort was used in hand-painting this item. The bowl/dish has a 6-panel design & a circle in the center with different floral & motif designs.
