Four Calendar Cafe is the seventh studio album by the Scottish alternative rock band Cocteau Twins. It was released on October 18, 1993. The album marked a departure from the bands earlier dream pop and ethereal sound, incorporating more acoustic elements and a simpler, more accessible musical style. Elizabeth Frasers distinctive vocals remained a central element of the album, while Robin Guthries atmospheric guitar work and Simon Raymondes bass lines provided a lush backdrop. The album was produced by Cocteau Twins themselves, with additional production by Lincoln Fong. The recording took place at September Sound in London.
