Coach vintage black leather baguette style East West 9818 crossbody bag

This Coach bag is from the late 1990s/early 2000s. I've seen it called a number of different names (the Demi Legacy, the Penelope bag etc) but haven't been able to chase down the original name. The bag is made from black glove tanned leather with an unfinished interior. It has an unusual elongated shape, a long rectangle with a zip top and a small flap with a brass turn lock. The strap is adjustable- wear it on the shoulder or across the body. The strap is also removable, allowing the bag to be carried as a clutch. The interior has a zippered pocket with the Coach creed embossed on it. The bag is in excellent shape overall! There is some very light wear on the bottom corners (see the 5th and 6th pics). The interior is clean. The original logo hangtag is present. The bag has been well cared for, with the leather cleaned and conditioned regularly to keep it supple and luminous.
