melthebiologist @hezeilman hi, I added a photo to the listing that shows the color up close. I think what you’re seeing, and my husband mentioned it too, is that the shoulder panel area is solid black fabric and it transitions into a very subtle pattern where it might appear lighter in color. Hope this helps.
