Classic Cream Pearls by Carolee

A classic row of cream pearls. Necklace is 16 inches long. Pearls are hand knotted and the chain is spotless. The pearls have a beautiful luxurious sheen to them. Made by Carolee. Carolee Friedlander founded Carolee Designs Inc. in 1972. She began as a young mother, designing jewelry at her kitchen table in Connecticut. She developed the company into a thriving business with headquarters and a manufacturing plant located in Greenwich. Friedlander also had an additional manufacturing facility in Providence, Rhode Island. In addition to making Carolee-branded jewelry, the business manufactured jewelry for Ralph Lauren’s Polo brand. Carolee's jewelry was first marketed in a handful of department stores. Since then, it has been sold in more than 700 retail outlets across the United States, including Dillard's, Macy's, and Lord & Taylor. Friedlander also sold jewelry through her first branded boutique in Hills, New Jersey, beginning in 1988. She followed by opening an outlet store in Harriman, New York, in 1993. The company advertised in leading fashion magazines during its heyday, including Vogue. Retail Brand Alliance acquired Carolee in 2001. All Carolee retail stores have since been closed, and the brand's website is now defunct.
