@ednajackson I read up on the markings of the ring. It was made by JR wood and sons

You sound very knowledgeable, I would like to ask a ? …Was this piece a match to a man’s ring or in those days did men even wear wedding rings. Size leads me to believe it was a woman’s ring, but not very fancy. I love super antique women’s wedding rings but all of mine (and I’ve got many,) are all 18 kt, beautiful filagree, with 1-3 diamonds, rubies, sapphires or emeralds. Have 1 plat dia filagree band. All about early 1900’s, I’ve been told.

The diamonds are not necessarily spectacularly cut diamonds. Is this ring the standard civil war style. Or were white gold diamond filagree rings, just for dress or church. I believe my oldest ring is early 1900’ so I’ve been told. I could have been told bull_._._._ Just to get a sale.(I don’t know).I do love them & wear them all the time.. thank you for your time and patience.

@debbyjones717 thank you.I love vintage/antique jewelry as well! I have done a lot of research on this particular ring to find out the meanings of the markings.
The ring would likely have to be a women’s due to how small it is. From what I read about this company is that they made many custom rings particularly wedding bands, So I’m not exactly sure if it’s really a wedding ring, however I can wear it on my wedding finger. it looks a little manly on me due to the thickness of the width.
