Another treasure from collection. Padded in vibrant red fabric. Music is gentle sounding lullaby I cannot place song. Easy to wind. French stopped involvement in Shanghai around 1946. Relative left several years later for Europe and eventually USA. Original tag. A miracle it is still there but jewelry box has been stored for decades. Brass etchings have not been cleaned. I think there was a pin thru latch but it was not in storage. Hate to part. Hopefully it goes to home where it is used and appreciated. It has experienced much history.
