Children's Book On A Summer Day By Lois Lenski 1953 Hardcover Color Illustration

Children's book written 1953. Color illustrations each page. Last page does look like something red spilled on bottom corner. Was once in a school library. Due date card holder still in the back. Measures 5 1/2 x 5. I was a little questionable about the last words of the book as shown in the last picture. Never heard this phrase before.
