I’m really curious if you have any pictures of your homemade chatelaine you could share?

@maryyexley unfortunately I made them for other people and don't have one of my own.

I went to find a period drawing of one but all my stuff is in the attic while the room is being painted. If you want one or still want to see one remind me in a couple weeks when I can get to my stuff.

What is a chatalain?

@steffi0118 It was an accessory worn at the waist that originally was given to a new bride by her husband that held the keys to the pantry, salt cellar, spice box ect. and consisted of several short chains to hold the keys. By the time of the civil war it more commonly held small items that would help a woman around the house (keys, scissors, smelling salts, magnifying glass ect.) Some were of silver or brass but they could also be made in the home out of ribbon.

Hello I'm interested in the scissors, Thread Cutter, & a pin cushion. I have an original brass Chataline. I'm looking for items that would have been on the Chataline.
