Chanel vintage blazer from SS ‘01 2001 by Karl Lagerfeld As seen in look 39 from Chanel’s SS 01 Runway show, this uber glam yet slick blazer - made from a silk viscous blend - features this sick jacquard pattern. The iridescent Camellia flowers (an OG Chanel iconography) flickers in the light. The tailored silhouette includes a pleated, vented back and fab zipper details with Chanel monogram etched in pearls. Interior silk lining bears the Chanel monogram with chain-link details around the inside hem. For Chanel SS ‘01, it seems as though Lagerfeld was inspired by glam rock, reworking the French brand’s iconic logo with a cheeky youthful wink. Eg, the distinct monogram as face stickers - very David Bowie. Or the 80s inspired gold chain belts with massive CC charms. And in this case, the Chanel monogram subtly included in the iridescent pattern on this jacket. This metallic pattern (featured throughout the collection), paired with the slanted side zipper unexpectedly evoked a sense of Joan Jett. While staying true to Chanel’s chic code of course.
