Chanel Gripoix and Mother of Pearl Butterfly Button

Beautiful vintage Chanel Gripoix type button with butterflies set onto a carved mother of pearl with black rhinestones. The jappaned metal is set onto a MOP shell with a protruding single hole metal in the back, typical of Chanel. The butterfly wings were poured into the frame. They did not make many with this feature. When you find them (if you do) they are usually only black. There is the tiny double c's on the bottom of the center flower but you may need to enlarge the photos to see it. Chanel buttons area great way to accessorize for just a 'little touch of Chanel', without having to spend a fortune on their larger jewelry pieces.
