Vintage Art Deco, cream enamel mesh purse with brass, hinged, kiss closure top and carved bamboo look, translucent apple juice Bakelite handle! The interior is lined with a purple- blue colored fabric with a Whiting and Davis tag and its stamp on the brass frame. Wear and aging consistent with pre-owned vintage item. chicgalfinds4u @vintage_voice what did you test with? I have same handbag and tested the handle with simichrome and it did not turn the cloth yellow as it should if it is Bakelite. That is why I am asking. Thank you

vintage_voice @chicgalfinds4u If an item is listed as Bakelite, I've tested it with semi-chrome. I also have been collecting Bakelite for a long time and it has the look, feel, etc. of it and would make sense it would be used for a W&D purse of this era.
