This beautiful painting captures the vibrancy of the Caribbean and the history of San Juan architecture in one scene. Purchased directly from Puerto Rican artist Carlos Melendez Surey (signed Carlos Melendez) in 1985, this acrylic on board painting has enjoyed many years gracing our family’s walls. The rich colors and bright perspective draw one into the scene every time, viewing the iconic shape of one of El Morro’s lookout towers, as well as the Bay of San Juan. This view is from one of the patio’s of the Governor’s Mansion in San Juan. The painting itself is 16” x 23.75”, with the framed dimensions at 22.5” x 30”.
