These cute vintage cat bookends are made of brass cats mounted on black lacquered wood. The black lacquer had a few chips which I have repaired with black lacquer. These spots are virtually undetectable but the brass does have a few age spots as pictured. I personally think it adds character as this is a vintage piece but if worrisome could possibly be removed with brass cleaner.
