Cool Vintage Navajo Sandpainting, signed by Navajo artist, featuring a Holy Man or "Yei"...And ....NLPM 89th Annual Nat'l Convention Memorabilia This original Sandpainting is signed by Navajo artist and is also a memento plaque from 1992 NLPM Convention(held by USJE) at The Westin Hotel La Paloma in Tuscon Arizona. Sandpainting is in excellent condition. There are approximately 500 different Navajo sandpainting designs. The story that needs to be told by the sandpainting for a specific healing ceremony determines which characters are painted. Wind, Thunder, Moon, and Earth are painted in human form to demonstrate their connection to the Earth People. A protective garland to ward off evil frequently borders three sides of the sandpainting.
