At the time, this line was the most expensive of American-made bags. Each bag was handmade (not handcrafted) using imported Italian leather that was treated to be scratch, water and stain resistant. Both the pebbled textured leather and brushed pearlized brass hardware have an antiqued quality meant to probably lend a classic "old world" elegance that you see in the European luxury bag market. There were also unique colors and shapes that also gave each bag a distinctiveness. Of the bags in this style, the Glenwood (also for sale) is larger than the Mayfield, if that helps. Like the Glenwood, the Mayfield is rectangular, horizontal and has good carrying capacity with front and back slip pockets. Overall, I'd say this bag is in good condition with mainly some stretching on the slip pockets and flap--issues from poor storage, maybe . The interior lining is clean, although minor wear (pilling) on the lining. Ready to go!.
