CHILDREN’S SHOE Collection Children’s shoe shopping used to be a dangerous right of passage…. Kids would enter the shoe store & alternate between jumping in & out the self-service foot X-ray machines & hopping on rocking horses with worn out springs. When it was their turn to be fitted, they would stand & get their feet manipulated on a Brannock device that probably had never crossed paths with a disinfectant &, if they were lucky, they wouldn’t contract Athletic’s Foot! Next the shoes would come out of the back room in boxes covered in scary promos & with enough paper inside to take down a forest! They would leave the store with a clown ballon with cardboard feet, a tootsie roll pop, & jump into the back seat (or front seat) of a car with no seat belts. If they didn’t suffocate from sucking on the balloon or (plastic bag), didn’t cram the sucker stick down their throats or “poke their eye out” when the brakes were ‘hit’, they survived the trip home only to be traumatized by the images on the shoe box staring down at them each time they opened their closet. Good times! Case in point: Kids today should count their blessings for POSHMARK - No repeated x-rays, falling off horses, foot fungus contact, possible suffocation or blindness, clowns, or Buster Brown!
