It is notable for being their first double album containing all new material and with writing contributions from all (and only) the members of the band. Recording took place at the private studio, Caribou Ranch, near Nederland, Colorado. 'Chicago VII' is also notable for having guest backing vocals by two of the Beach Boys and the Pointer Sisters. The album was a huge success, becoming the band's third straight #1 on the US Billboard 200. The album spawned three Top-20 hit singles on the US Billboard Hot 100: '(I've Been) Searchin' So Long' made it to #9, 'Call on Me' reached #6, while 'Wishing You Were Here' peaked at #11.
