I’m a professionally trained metalsmith, I create quality OOAK pieces. My 925, gold, copper, brass, titanium, and gems are sourced from US suppliers. I NEVER plate pieces w/faux coatings; trendy jewelry mfrs do so to cover cheap allergenic metal.
All designs are mine - I don’t buy mass-produced pieces and falsely tag as “handmade.”

@leviya Ara Severa is actually the genus and species of one of my pet birds, a Severe Macaw named Q. I have been using Ara Severa for emails and such since 2002... by biz is Captured By Lori (I originally did photography- hence “Capture.” But I “capture” ideas in metal and gemstones now as well...and I already had the web domain...😊

@leviya Some subspecies of keets do talk (like the famous Disco the Parakeet on YouTube). Mine is a tiny little keet, just makes lots of getting noises. Yes, it’s pretty awesome! I’ve been having conversations with birds for 26 yrs now!

@arasevera hint.. I love birds, especially crows, ravens, and my next tattoo will be a magpie... I have a raven on my lower back, a small bird over full moon silhouette on my right shoulder, and a feather on each of my forearms. I'm still thinking how I want my next tattoo to look and where it will go on my body.

@smokitopaz ohhh-much of my work is inspired by birds! The pieces that I want to show you are FEATHERS! One is silver, the other a patinaed copper. It’s really cool that when I read your “about” I immediately thought of those two pieces-now you tell me you like feathers! How cool is that!

@smokitopaz My next tattoo is going to be a stylized Phoenix - I just don’t know where yet! I am owned by 4 birds...a cockatoo, a severe macaw, a conure and a little yellow ‘keet. I make jewelry from their (molted) feathers too!

@arasevera I have a large collection of feathers I've found or been given by my father over the years. I have always felt they were something magical, a gift from the creatures with the gift of flight, like a hint of the feeling or what it must be like to fly. I'm a fire sign so naturally air feeds fire. I have a bird feeder on my porch that gets so many sparrows, cardinals, and blue jays. ...Cont'd.

@arasevera I have yet to find a cardinal feather but have found several bluejay feathers on or near my front porch. The sparrow feathers are interesting coloration- grey with black or brown stripes. I feel they are thanking me for the seed I continue to put out for them. When people visit they are startled by the mass exodus of birds coming out of the holly bushes near my porch. They create their own wind! They are beautiful to watch.

@smokitopaz I could send you some of my birds’ gorgeous feathers! There are some smaller ones in the pics with the skeleton keys. I make Christmas ornaments from my cockatoos white feathers and earrings out of her curvy orange-yellow crest feathers! I have found 2 red-tail hawk feathers -yes, it’s like they were placed there if me to find (I do outdoor macro photography). My hubby, however, is a bird magnet. Everywhere we go, wild birds just come to him!!

@dezchic I do frequently - but sharing and and stuff throughout the screws it up. Plus, when I do have it there, people don’t bother to share it. ☹️ my closet changes several times a day b/c of the way the Poshmark app works. They really need to fix it so we don’t have to reshare/re-edit every time we share an item to a party or a person.

@ymdamian Depends on the size you’d like the 🌸 to be. The size of a dime? Smaller? Bigger? Can you give me approx diameter of 🌸 in millimeters?
The gold portion would be the little balls in the center of each flower-right? I can use 10k or 14k.
Rough estimate is $250...could be more or less though-depends on the size of the 🌸 and karat of gold (10/14) you’d like.
I’ll create a commission listing (as I have w/my other customers) if you decide to have me make this for you and we can chat there!

Unfortunately, I do not. Materials that are used to make the clip part are not able to sustain the heat of the flame I would use to attach the fancy stuff to the clip (I don’t use epoxy or glues) 😕
