Buyer Beware! There are tons of counterfeit units on sales sites.

If you’re expecting to purchase a legit Dyson, be careful! I have purchased several on sales sites and confirmed this. I see tons hiding the plug 🔌. Many sellers may not even be aware they have a fake Dyson. Often the serial number is legit but doesn’t match the unit exactly. Such as exact color ir accessories included. Some fakes do have the white circle on power button but often not. There should also be a fan icon and dot on the temp & speed buttons. All legit Dysons do. Make sure the US unit has a surge protector box with reset button. Also, I found that the fake units often have a wide range voltage. US units should be 110-120v not 110-240v. Each unit for each country is specific. Many are “new” and sealed, but I’d request verification of plug. I did do with all I purchased and was able to return. Many said yes to surge protector box and they arrived with regular plug. Very frustrating. You can confirm Dyson authorized dealers too and verify where seller purchased. A lot of money to spend & receive a counterfeit. There are also lots of model’s circulating that are not US models. Dyson strongly advises against using a converter on these units. Dyson in the US will NOT service them either. Serial number should contain (US). JP, EU, etc are not United States units. If one or more of these issues are spotted, I’d proceed with caution. If it’s claimed they are refurbished & why no surge box, likely wasn’t authorized by Dyson. Fakes come with documents too.
