@tracymn your welcome, another easy way to recognize a fake is the label stitching, a $300 +scarf will have its label perfectly stitched. Not slobby, always ask the seller to show you the back of the scarf where the label is...

Does the label have to look like this or can it be a blue label
Nov 12Reply

lalic74
@melissiaa bluelabel is only made in 8 location in japan, and should not be for sale in Europe or U.S.A.Bluelabel is of a lesser quality and more trendy,a lot of blue and pink pastels are found in the blue label products. Hope this helps!

@lalic74 so I️ would want to stay away from that if I️ wanted a true Burberry
Nov 12Reply

lalic74
@melissiaa I would just ask the seller a lot of questions and ask for pictures, pay attention to the stiching and google blue label so you.know what to look for. If you do buy the item, you can always take it to a burberry store and ask if it is an original, if it is not, return the item. I did that once here on PM.

Would you mind if I tagged you on a scarf to let you look at it to see if you think it's authentic? I've been looking for a Burberry scarf and I'm clueless! Your post has helped though!

robinliu
@lalic74 sorry add now

@robinliu I have never seen Burberry place those add ons to the tags, but that doesn't mean the store wouldn't do it. Check the back of the label, see how it's stitched, it should be neatly done. The washing label looks real, these are simply added to be easily removed. It looks like it's cashmere, the thickness should be in between wool and silk. It's hard to tell on the pics... The black label worries me though...I have not run into a black yet, in any store

melinajm
Hello! Is the top label a fake too? Thanks
Apr 30Reply

lalic74
@melinajm no,that's real. Always check the proper sewing of the label and the R is very specific, is has a rounding at the bottom is not a straight R. Google it and you'll see what I mean.

@yellow2106 here is the truth! Burberry produces in China ( blue label, should only be sold in Cina, cheaper version), as well as Poland, Romania, India, Spain, Italy,England, and also lots in the US. Burberry has factories all over the world and if its not their own factories they contract this work.

Omg yes!!!!! Soooooo many fakes on here!! I actually purchased a fake myself before I started researching and became basically an expert on telling them apart myself. It’s ashamed how many are listed as authentic and they’re fake as fake gets.

I just bought a preowned scarf and I think it may be fake. It’s supposed to be older though. How and where can I upload pics to to help with authenticating?

I've had many Burberry scarves throughout my short life and know when there's a fake pretty quick. There are many on this site, too, while asking for full price! I sometimes report these pages, but you can only do so much!
Nov 22Reply

juliazawesome
@a_efron this is a somewhat older post but, did you figure it out?
Nov 22Reply

fashionsprinkle
@juliazawesome hi! It turned out to be a fake so I opened a case and sent it back. The stitching on the tag was terrible and the word Burberry wasn’t even centered

@a_efron ugh gross! there are so many fakes on this site I'm scared when something even looks legit lol did you find something else?
