Justitia is the Roman personification of Justice. Her origin is related to the Greek Titan Themis, who was an oracle of Delphi and became known as the goddess of divine justice. Her daughters Dike and Astraea were also known as goddesses of justice, but not "divine justice." There are many variations of the way Justitia is depicted, but most often she is portrayed as carrying the scales of justice in one hand and a sword in the other and with her eyes blindfolded which symbolizes the fair and equal administration of the law without corruption, avarice, prejudice, or favor in the legal systems throughout the western world. This beautifully crafted cold-cast bronze statue measures 9.5 inches high, 8 inches long, and 4 inches wide, and depicts Lady Justice kneeling down on one knee, blindfolded and holding up balance scales in her left hand and her sword held downward beside her.
