It is very stretchy, so you could definitely wear it not pregnant, maternity or postpartum if you wanted to! I got it because it's nursing friendly. I feel like the only thing that technically made it maternity was that it was longer in the front. However, I did have it altered to be my length as well as one length all around. I am 5'7''.
