Bettye Muller Suede Lace-Up Wedge Booties US Size 9.5/10

Bettye Muller shoes are known for cutting edge style and incredible craftsmanship, and this pair is no exception. It’s like someone grabbed a standard pair of suede chukka boots and said “Make it fashion!” (Please insert the Project Runway gif of your choosing here.) So: The uppers are crafted from a warm tan suede (hand-sewn to the sole, looks to me), with the chukka lacing but also a 2” fold over “collar” around the ankle. And then—surprise!—instead of a practical let’s-go-hiking flat or block-heeled outsole, it’s a 3” wedge, because why not? At least the molded plastic does still offer a decent tread. I rate these shoes to be in very good preowned condition, missing a rating of excellent because the bottoms do show some wear, and also the wedge itself is a bit discolored at the back on the right shoe (view the heel pic to see what I’m talking about; minor, but it’s there). These are tiny issues, and the both the suede itself and the leather lining are in fantastic shape. These are really beautiful boots.
