The soles are made of Memory Foam which is super lightweight and fit to your foot like a dream. The woven top is strong and durable, but soft and forgiving on your skin. In my family's experience of wearing them, we haven't experienced any frays, tears, breaks, or any other kind of issues with any of the material on the shoes.
