The coin dot pattern is a copy of the Victorian Polka Dot pattern, and the cranberry glass is made with a dark pink base and white opalescence. Fenton's cranberry glass gets its color from pure gold, and the glassmaking process is a skill that requires knowledge and craftsmanship. The process begins with a glassworker attaching a "bud" of glass containing pure gold to a blowpipe.
