Condition: Good pre-owned antique, 1920s. Good overall condition, some chipped enamel on frame and dropped links at both hinges. Bag is functional to carry items. Please view pictures closely. Disconnected mesh is repairable! Offers welcome! In the teens and early 20s, Whiting & Davis bags are made of small precious metal rings and are unpainted for the most part, their striking designs coming from a mixture of metal colors, artfully joined rings and metal fringe. By the end of the 20s, flat Armor mesh painted in bold Deco designs and Dresden mesh, with its tiny rings silkscreened by hand in dreamy Impressionistic shades, take center stage. Antique enamel frame chainmail mesh purse with twisted paper clip chain. Geometric design in shades of pink, copper, white and silver enamel. Embossed unpolished silverplate frame and sawtooth hem. Measures 6.5 inches tall (12.5 inches including chain). Inside of frame stamped Whiting & Davis Mesh Bags. Some dropped links at hinges otherwise excellent condition.
