The space is about 11 inches from the top of the strap to the top of the bag.
With the bottom zipper open and the middle unzipped the bag is easily 6-7 inches wide from front to back. Hopefully that answers your questions!

@ymgautreaux I added a few pictures, which made it currently under review again.
There is the main outer central zipper but only a tiny zippered pocket on the inside. There is also a zipper that runs along to bottom to allow expansion or a smaller bag, if desired.
The back and front are almost identical, just not metal icon on the back.
Hopefully this answers all of the questions and the listing passed review shortly so that you can view everything.
