When the U.S. Mint changes coin designs, the change usually occurs after production of the old design has ended at the end of the year. On rare occasions the change takes place during the year- resulting in two different designs of the same denomination that bear the same date. This happened in 1916 when the U.S. Mint made the last Silver Barber Dime and the first Mercury Silver Dime. This two piece circulated coin set includes one of each dime from 1916. The set comes on a decorative and informative mount in a vinyl folio (5.75" x 5.25") with a certificate of authenticity.
