'Silk Degrees' is the seventh studio album by American musician Boz Scaggs, originally released in February 1976, by Columbia Records. Recorded in Los Angeles, among the accompanying musicians were David Paich, Jeff Porcaro, and David Hungate, who went on to become members of Toto, while Fred Tackett joined Little Feat.
The album peaked at #2 and spent 115 weeks on the Billboard 200. 'Silk Degrees' spawned four singles. 'It's Over' (#38), 'Lowdown' (#3) and 'Lido Shuffle' (#11) made the Top-40 of the Billboard Hot 100, while 'What Can I Say' peaked at #42.
At the 1977 Awards, 'Lowdown' won the Grammy for "Best R&B Song."
'Silk Degrees' has been certified 5× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and remains Scaggs's most popular album.
