BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE SIAM STERLING SILVER EARRINGS/BROOCH INTRICATE THAILAND....3/4''...vintage 1940's..in excellent condition.....screw on earrings vintage SIAM STERLING SILVER BROOCH INTRICATE THAILAND....1940's..in very good condition....Jewelry made in Siam was super popular in the Art Deco period and is returning in popularity today. This type of Jewelry was also called "Nielloware" because of the mixture of compounds used to make the black border. Siam became Thailand in 1939 and they continued using the Siam name on their jewelry until the mid 1950s. This large brooch displays images of a Namaste Goddess. It is in excellent condition, is convex with a solid safety clasp, has an openwork border and measures 2 1/4" tall by approximately 1 3/4" wide. this and the earrings were purchased by my mother's father in the early 1940's
