BALENCIAGA Classic Leather Moto Jacket, Black (2007), Size 40

2007 was the first year that Balenciaga produced their classic leather moto jackets. They were some of the rarest and most highly desirable & sought after. They only released 2 colors (black & biscuit) & used the best leather that season - pillowy thick, velvety soft & wonderfully distressed with a slightly faded appearance. The leather zipper pulls were looped & fastened with silver rivets at the ends so they wouldn’t split like they did in later seasons and the pockets are lined with a more flannel like material. I bought this jacket on a resale site to replace a size 38 I used to own & sold, but I never wore it. Its in excellent condition, especially considering that its 15 yrs old and appears to have been barely worn! The leather is buttery soft with barely any signs of wear and has that perfectly faded, washed leather look. Some say it has a greenish tint - I just think its a perfect shade of washed out black (I took pics in various lighting for accuracy). The lining is clean with no rips, holes, snags or stains. These jackets have a slim fit and were designed to be worn open/unzipped. Approx measurements lying flat & unzipped: 21" long 18" across the chest (underarm to underarm - 17” zipped) 16" across the shoulders in back (seam to seam) 25" sleeves (Hanger not included)
