Avon 1876 CAPE COD COLLECTION

Set includes 2 wine goblets, and 1 miniature picture/ creamer. This beautifully executed creamer set is reminiscent of early American pressed glass called "Sandwich." It featured lacy, intricate designs, fine background stippling and exquisite brilliance, which reflected the superb craftsmanship of its makers. Many of the detailed designs of this prized glass were produced by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Works, founded on Cape Cod in 1825. Avon has created this unique collection. Not only does it recall the beaut of this quality glass, but its name commemorates both the spirit of the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial which celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the area where Sandwich glass originated.
