Authentic Vintage Tuareg Shaped Conical Bell Silver Ring

Handcrafted by indigenous Tuareg artisans, the conical shape of this vintage silver ring stands out. The pyramid cone is hollow and contains small bits of metal that sound like a soft bell when you shake it. From domed cone is inscribed with a geometric pattern of lines, dots, and triangles that fan out form the center tip. The band is similarly etched. The pronounced oxidation to the surface highlights the pattern. A truly unique ring. I purchased these Tuareg pieces in the early 1990s from a reputable ethic arts gallery and they date prior to that. See other Tuareg pieces in this closet. Note the mixed metal, a silver and copper alloy, in this piece is lightly tarnished with green (see photos). I have gently buffed the surface with a polishing cloth but have not removed the tarnish, which is a sign of age.
