I bought one fake in Internet to compare with the one I get here. But it hasn't arrived yet.

Hmmm makes me wonder if what I purchased on posh a couple days was authentic?? 😞 There is no number stamped just a color. I am sad they even make fake MAC!

@rsmith78 you can feel the difference when you try both only if you have a authentic you can see the differences, the Mac letters, the sparkles of the packaging, the color of the package.

@rsmith78 I'm sad because the one I got here is fake, I was happy thinking it was a good deal.

@rsmith78 it has to look perfect, everything, the letters, the packaging, the sparkle.
I'm still learning how to recognize a authentic Mac cosmetic too😬. I wanted to buy an ugg boots but after this disappointment I'll pass, it hard to see the difference between the authentic ugg and the fake ones too.

Most MAC fakes are easy to spot if you know what you are looking for. There are a few exceptions but when they arrive you can tell without a doubt. Posh will refund you for fakes if you file a claim.

Some people just sucker money out of other people for quick pay its ridiculous.

I thought it had to have a recyclable sign to be authentic?

@shahranib15 it's not about what the number is, the letter indicates which batch it is, the second number indicates the month and the third indicates the year. Both yours and hers are authenticity just one was made in June and one in September :) so again the number itself doesn't really matter it's how it was stamped and the quality of the printing or ink

@giannaleonard2 but why the first one says just matte and the second one (from Macy's) says retro matte?
Dec 26Reply

giannaleonard2
@theresad23 the first one is fake. Ruby Woo IS. Retro Matte so it will say that on the authentic package. But that's not the point, another girl said hers said A95 not A65, all I was making a point to say was that hers is authentic and so is the bottom A65 one, they were just make 3 months apart from each other. You can tell the first one is fake because it's printed, while the bottom one is stamped.

When I'm thinking of buying anything on here I usually go to YouTube to find how to spot fakes it's very helpful especially with Mac items I've noticed people who are selling fakes will usually overprice them I've gotten really good specially with lipsticks the lids of the fake ones are too big for the authentic ones and the sticker is a big sign on almost every Mac product fake

@shahranib15 the A35 is batch numbers. So all real MAC product will have a batch number. That number tells us the month and year it was made.
I've been with the comp at for over 11 years so just know not all numbers are the same because they are different batch numbers.
The only thing that will be the same in numbers is the foundation colors like NC15 or Nw35. An names of lipsticks.
So you can have two Ruby Woo lipsticks and one says A34 and another A23
