These heels were lovingly Embellished with carefully hand selected vintage brooches, placed at each cross of the laces. The shoes are pictured with on trend mesh socks with tiny metallic stars, which can dress up and add additional uniqueness to the look. They can be worn, however, with or without the socks. Pair with a vintage dress or dress with a vintage flavor to complete the look, or make a statement by pairing with dark skinny jeans and a more casual top. One of a kind.

@firsthandshake Girl you are sooo gifted!! I’ve been itching to get into upcycling apparel, but I never considered upcycling shoes as well! Great idea! I really love your closet, btw. 🤗

@raj3 Thank you so much. That means the world! If you would ever like a custom piece, just let me know- I would be so excited to work with you. I could also offer some customizing/ upcycling tips if you are interested :)

@firsthandshake Ughhh, I would LOVE that! Thank you thank you! I will definitely be coming to you with questions in the somewhat near future. Lol. Ohhh! I came across you tonight- twice!! The 1st time after clicking on Saratoga Springs ( I lived there for six years before moving to San Diego when I was 6) & the 2nd time was totally coincidental while clicking from one seemingly random closet to the next. That’s when I saw your gorgeous closet!!! It’s just lovely and so fun to peruse.

@raj3 oh whoa!! That’s so cool! I visited San Diego once and it was wonderful! Do you like living there? And yeah, I sew custom leggings too and make accessories- basically if you come to me with an idea, the sky is the limit :) and if you have questions let me know. Upcycling is so great- very creative and joyful and I feel like it should be passed on.

@firsthandshake 😯Ooh, I will have to order some leggings for sure! I was thinking it would be great to sew/embroider &/or add lace to the sleeves for a mixed media look (& lengthen sleeves at the same time, as I have long arms). You’ve probably seen those same type of sleeves from brands like Free People, and I love that look & want to try that myself. After you liked the ruffle boots in my closet, I thought those would be perfect to upcycle!

@raj3 yess that would be an awesome idea. I know what you’re talking about and love that look! I’ll tag you in my legging post- it’s just for single color leggings so far, but we could do different colors or patterns if you wanted to!

@firsthandshake I lived in north county of San Diego (Carlsbad & Oceanside, mostly) up until my husband and I moved up to his hometown in Central California. I definitely miss it, but I like that there’s almost no traffic up here. Have you lived in Saratoga your whole life? I would love to go back and visit with my family.

@raj3 aww that is always nice. I used to live in Scotia, which is like 45 mins from Saratoga lol. It’s definitely nice here but I’d like to explore a bit more at some point too. You should definitely come visit, but wait until it gets a little warmer lol. The stupid brutal winters.

hi how high are these heels?
Apr 03Reply

firsthandshake
@menuchasegal hi there :). So these shoes are in a local art shop where I sell some of my pieces, however I’m going there today (curbside pickup), so I can measure the height of the heel for you.

@firsthandshake thanks

@menuchasegal No problem. They are about 3.5” tall. They don’t have a super skinny heel, so they’re pretty sturdy :)
